If you're wandering through the charming streets of Vienna and find yourself craving a cozy spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or a delicious bite, look no further than Café Inkognito. Nestled at Lustkandlgasse 6, this quaint café effortlessly marries the historic charm of Vienna with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for a quiet conversation or a leisurely afternoon.

Café Inkognito isn’t just a café; it’s a taste of Vienna's rich musical heritage. With walls that have likely absorbed the echoes of famous Austrian singers and musicians, the ambiance has a nostalgic feel. The low music adds to the serene environment, creating the ideal backdrop for a delightful experience. As one reviewer beautifully put it, this is a place where you can “meet to talk at a quiet location where the music is low & the staff is friendly.”

The menu, reflecting traditional Austrian cuisine, boasts popular offerings that leave a genuine impression. Don’t miss the crowd favorite: the Gulaschsuppe. Rich and hearty, this goulash soup warms your soul on a chilly Viennese day, with tender meat and a depth of flavor that’s simply irresistible. For something equally satisfying, try the Erdäpfelgulasch, a delicious potato goulash that has garnered rave reviews for its flavor and value.

But it’s not just the food that shines at Café Inkognito; it’s the staff that brings the experience to life. Reviewers frequently mention the "Wiener Humor" present in the friendly service. The staff here are known to embody a genuine warmth, providing not just service but a friendly chat that makes you feel at home. For instance, one customer reflected on the honesty and heartwarming nature of the team, stating that they went out of their way to offer directions and engage in friendly conversation.

The café is small, with an entrance that might catch you by surprise, adding to its incognito charm. Local patrons appreciate its cozy feel and enjoy the friendly banter from the servers, a nice change from the more traditional service often found in other establishments. Customers like Jeanne Jirges emphasize this, saying, “They joke around and make you feel welcome,” adding an extra layer of comfort during your visit.

In short, Café Inkognito is a gem in Vienna, offering a delectable selection of traditional dishes, an enchanting atmosphere steeped in history, and some of the friendliest service you'll encounter. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, make sure this charming café is on your itinerary for a taste of true Viennese hospitality.

Historic landmark from famous Austrian singers & musicians. Still the old style Viennese charm in a local that has since long been forgotten. A good place to meet to talk at a quiet location where the music is low & the staff is friendly.

Very small, we almost did not see the entrance, which makes it even funnier because of 'incognito'. The staff is extremely friendly. Not the Viennese way of being friendly, I mean the honest and heartwarming way. (allowed to say that, I'm Viennese) They joke around and make you feel welcome. They talk, make conversation in a decent but entertaining way. Even went out with me to give me directions for my way home. Place is cozy and extraordinary, I loved the seats. I'll definitely come back again and again and again.

Wirklich ein Wiener Geheimtipp. Sollte man sich unbedingt mal ansehen. Ganz besonderes Flair. Mehr will ich nicht verraten. PS. : Top Bewirtung durch einen witzig, charmanten und immer zuvor kommenden Kellner. Aber auch der Besitzer ist freundlich und man kann so über das ein oder highlight quatschen.
